By using first hand sources, the purpose of this essay is a biographical sketch of Alvaro Flórez de Estrada (1766-1853), one of the most notable Spanish liberals of all time. It specially approaches his interesting and quite unknown constitutional thought, as well as his decisive contribution to Political Economy, not disregarding the intellectual footstep of this author in Spain all throughout the 19th and 20th Centuries.
