Abstract

This article tries to show the discussion between “provincialistas” and “regnícolas” in the first Mexican Constitutionalism. As it will be exposed, the opposition between these two points of view was partially founded in the ambiguity of some institutions of the Constitution of Cadix (1812), which tried to be a transaction with the Old Regime.
