Abstract

This article tries to rethink about the political thought of Arroyal, who is very interesing due to his reflections on the Constitution and to his points of view about culture. Both perspectives are very important to get a better knowledge about the complex XVIIIth Century Spain. I will analyze the relationship between the idea of Constitution and the history of Spain in the Cartas económico-políticas, written by Leon de Arroyal between 1786 and 1795, which included three projects: Constitution, Civil Code and Criminal Code.
