Abstract

Alvaro Flórez Estrada represents himself a real laboratory to study the birth and limits of the liberal thought in Spain. This essay tries to show that Spanish liberalism found serious theoretical difficulties to make real the statement after which the American Spanish territories were an essential part of the Spanish Crown.
