The integration of large territories in constitutional theory of 1812

Abstract

This article describes and analyzes the territory of the Monarchy as element of the theory of the state of the 1812 Constitution. The Spanish Constitution of 1812, considerated the first case of constitutional organization of large territories during the nineteenth century (more than 14 million kms2), regulates a state estructure in the article 10 (Title II, Chapter I, from the territory of Spain) and Title VI, about the Interior Government of the Provinces and Municipalities, according to the principles of national sovereignty, unity, decentralization in the provinces (asymmetric in the overseas provinces) and deconcentration in the municipalities.

Profesor Titular de Universidad (Área de Derecho Constitucional de la Universidad de Cádiz). Premio de Estudios Constitucionales 1812 (2004) del Centro de Estudios Constitucionales 1812. Responsable del Grupo de Investigación SEJ-058 del Plan Andaluz de Investigación. Director de la Facultad de Ciencias del Trabajo (Sede de Algeciras). Actualmente, miembro del Proyecto I+D Consolider Ingenio HURI AGE "Tiempo de los derechos"; del Programa HOST de la Unión Europea sobre inmigración en el el Sur de Europa; y del Programa de Estudios Europeos de la Universidad de Concepción (Chile). Asesor en el Parlamento de Andalucía del Estatuto de Autonomía de 2007.
