Abstract

This article analyzes the discussion on the concept of “Historic Constitution”, which was used both for “realistas” and liberal deputies in the Corts of Cadix (1810-1812) during the constituent debates. History was used by deputies to show that they were not really creating a new Constitution, but just recovering old principles included in the Spanish Fundamental Laws.
